Image transfer from Camera to PC.......D50

I am using the Sandisk card reader, finding my images thru Windows Explorer,

then moving them over to PC into Folders I create. The last image refuses to

transfer or so the error states; but in actuality it does show up in the folder

AND stays in the camera. I then delete it in the camera or thru Windows

Explorer. Anyone else ever seen/heard anything about this?

I suggest this. NEVER use the "move" command. Always copy, then back up if you can, THEN

FORMAT the card in the camera rather than the computer. If your computer should fritz out

while you are "moving" you can lose MUCH data.

 

This may or may not be related to your problem, but it's a good tip.

Ditto on the above advice. Here is a suggestion: try shooting ten images on your camera. Make a new folder to put the images into. Then put your SD card in the reader and use Windows Explorer to 'copy' the files into your new folder. Do all the images transfer?

Doesn't matter whether I copy or move images. I am aware of the copy over procedure and am trying to remember to put it into practice more.

This sounds like the last file is read-only. Check the properties of the file.

Yes it happens to me to accidentally hit the "lock" button on my D200. "Move" then has a problem :-)

No, no locked image. As stated it does transfer, but also leave a copy on camera too. No big deal, just kinda strange.

Are you sure the image is not locked? Did you check that within the camera OR you assume that it is not locked because you can transfer it with your "move" action ? I mean even if it is locked the "move" action will create a copy but not delete it from the original SD card.
