Ilford Inkjet papers

My Epson 1280 bronzes the blacks badly on glossy paper, so I changed to an

Epson semi-glossy with excellent results and have not used anything else

since. However, at my local Photography store I recently saw some sample

swatches of Ilford Inkjet paper. In the swatch package was an extremely white,

very smooth (but not glossy) paper. It looked beautiful. Has anybody used

these Ilford papers? I'm looking for feedback on some printing results from

parties who have used this paper already.

Ilford is definately in the category of good 3rd party papers. They provide profiles for most Epson printers and generally work very well as long as you don't try to use any of the Galerie Classic with pigment inks.

Did you happen to write down the particular paper that you liked by Ilford?

 

I must say that the Ilford Smooth Pearl is a very nice paper on the Epson R2400. It even comes close to the Epson Luster paper.

The 1280 loves Ilford Classic Pearl Paper. It is designed for dye printers (yours). Smooth Pearl Paper is intended for pigment ink, such as used by the Epson 2400.
