dk_thompson
I need some help--looking for a source for *new* spare parts for an Ilford 2150 processor. I'm having difficulty getting the part I need from GEI and Serco is out of the picture now as well. So, if anyone has a lead on another vendor for replacement parts for the Ilford processing machines--OR--if anyone actually has some news other than rumors, I would be much obliged for the help. Thanks in advance.
alexis_neel
Are you interested in buying a used one? I have a friend that has one, and you could use it for parts till you find a better source. If so, let me know your budget. Alexis www.alexisneel.com
dk_thompson
thanks, but we have a line on at least 2 used junk machines in our area already. what I need is a worm drive gear for a rack. I've talked with GEI and Ilford and basically the parts situation is, well, pretty dire at the moment. I did get some help today from another vendor though, so hopefully we can track down a substitute without having to buy a junk machine just to get one gear. Sooner or later, we'd just need another part though, so it might come down to that in the end. I'll keep you in mind however...your friend can donate that processor and get a tax writeoff though (wishful thinking)....
alexis_neel
Ok sure. No problem. And he just might. He certainly doesn't need the money. BTW, when I had an old Royal print processor, and was running out of parts from the parts/junked other one I had, I toyed with the idea of making a mold and having a new one made. If those worm gears are anything like the Royal Prints, it isn't out of the range of possibility, especially if you plan to run those for a long time to come. OR you could upgrade and buy my 2240 :) Alexis www.alexisneel.com
