trooper
I recently acquired a large cache of enlarging lenses with some darkroomequipment. They were mostly common but high grade brands/models but there wasone that I haven't been able to track down. It's an O & ER, marked Reston, VAand is a 4.5/135mm, made in Japan. It's a bit intriguing because it has a nice, sixteen blade iris and while it's compact (with 39mm thread), it seems to be ofdecent quality of manufacture. Googling didn't bring up anything but I thoughtthat perhaps someone might have some idea about this. Maybe it's just another re-badged generic but the mechanicals seem to be ofdecent quality and it seems of relatively modern design. I get 6 reflections oflight with a point source so perhaps it's a simple triplet?
dan_fromm2
Among other things, O+ER sold ID cameras that took Polaroid film. Y'r lens may have come from one. If only 6 bright and no faint reflections, it sounds like a triplet. Still worth a trial to make sure it isn't a real treasure. And who knows? It might be. Odds are against, but it might be.
