I owned one of those briefly. It came along with about 1/2 dozen other cameras I was given. Most of them quite a bit nicer. :)

Lens based artist? Actually all realist pictures are lens based, even paintings and drawings. The lens in a painter's eye does cast a real optical image of the external world onto a megapixel sensor which is the retina at the back of the eye. The retina digitizes the image and sends it via the optic nerve to the memory in the painter's brain. The brain processes the picture data: levels, colors, editing, stitching, HDR, and so on - all the familiar stuff. Finally the processed data is output as paint on canvas guided by the painter's hand and brush. The output program may be complex and take two or three years at art school to download into the painter's mind.

Lens based art is a deep ocean. Good luck to H. Jennings Sheffield.
