I can't open RAW files anymore with PSCS.

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I used to be able to open a RAW file from my Canon 20D

automatically in the raw converter when I clicked on the file. But

now I click on the file and PSCS opens, but then it gives me an

error message saying that it's the wrong type of file. HELP! What

do I do? I just did a wedding and I need to start processing.

Thanks so much!

Adobe camera Raw 3.x works fine with the 20D. Sounds like you are using the previous version of Photoshop, ver. 8? Darn, I wish I could help you. Were your Windows file associations messed up? That happens sometimes if you install some other graphics package recently. Also, are you using a card reader to transfer your images from your CF cards to your PC?

If you re-install PS.CS, you may need to go Adobe site and download the Camera_Raw_2.4

plugin in order to read .CR2 files from 20D. Unlike PS.CS2, PS.CS read only .CRW files.

PS.CS2 read .CR2 without problems.

Before re-intalling PS.CS you may just download Camera_Raw_2.4 and install it. The one

you have now may be corrupted.
