I just got an email from http://www.nolimitsphotos.com/ telling me they've

listed me as a "link partner", and would I be interested in linking back to them.

I went to their site, and they offer a subscription service and sell "stock"

photos for a dollar each. Their own, and those of their photographer partners.

And there I am under the Link Partners! I didn't find any photos of my own

explicitly on their site, but one might get the idea that I'm one of their

photographer "partners".

I contacted them, and told them they do not have permission to sell any of my

photos, and to remove my link.

There's little one can do to prevent someone linking to your site, but selling

someone's photos without permission is not legal. I'll be on the lookout for that.

I doubt there's much risk with really getting ripped off - hard to imagine

anyone selling web versions of my photos, with dubious copyright - when I have

only sold a handful of the high-quality copies I keep at home. Nevertheless, I

was annoyed at being represented that way without my permission.

My first step in Stock Photography sites is to go to the bottom of the site pages, find the legal documents, download them and read them in detail. (Some of them are incredibly long). Those sites who have questionable requirements / contractual obligations in the boilerplate (to which you have to agree as part of the netsite's business plan) should be avoided.
