how to do a limited backgroung

how to make a background repeat itself on top side of the site all the way from one side of the screen to the other. It is not inside a table, i have inside the table my image, like a banner, but i want the extensions of the image, which both are the same, to be continued ., then i have a bg color for the entire site which i define it in css.<br>

just like in this web site, as an example...<br>

you see the top banner is from left to right all the way.<br>

if somebody see the website from a bigger screen i want the person to be able to see the same way i see on a little one.<br>

<p>It's how you write the html code, or the script-driven html code, by writing the background and top banner first and then any subsequent tables below it. You just repeat the block for every Web page, or in the script, to display the banner and then the tables. Just remember to make everything scrollable so people can move left-right if the banner is wider than their browser window.</p>
