suchismit1
Images shot vertically with the Nikon D70 get auto rotated when downloading to the PC with Nikon View/Capture software. However with the Epson P-2000 connected to the PC, Nikon Transfer is disabled. I believe its because the P-2000 is treated as a local drive while CF card readers are treated as removable drives. The only way images can then be copied to the PC hard drive is by using windows (explorer) which doesn't autorotate the images. I don't want to manually rotate hundreds of images before saving them to my hard drive. Anyone knows how ?
jamesmck
A free program called Irfanview will do batch rotation (after they are on your hard drive) or will auto-rotate images based on EXIF information. maxz
I have used jhead (which in turn uses jpegtran to do the rotating business) to rotate lots of jpeg-files at the same time from the command line. Very easy to use.
jimstrutz
You can also use the free utility, XanView. Just scann through the thumbnails, slecting the ones you want to rotate, and then select <Lossless JPG Actions> (if the are JPG images) and choose rotate 90 degrees. Quck & painlless.
