Now I have it and use it. The lens is gorgeous, one of the best ever.
I agree, a simple, small lens that is up to the talk for sure.
40/2.8 limited. Nothing is to be done, to be improved or edited, it is a petite ultra-quick masterpiece-maker.
You were really patient, it took you only 9 years to get one. Out of focus blur could be way better
This is a Tessar. They all render this way. Who says better = stronger bokeh? Medium blur may give 3D look as this one, but strong blur is often flat and lifeless. I like it for a combination of qualities. I had Nikkor 50/1.4 classic versions (all had wobbling) and this one is better than they and more eхpensive. There are better lenses like Otus, Milvus and Leica Cron but they aren't AF.
I absolutely love this lens and use it as the primary street shooter on my K-5 or K-7.
