carl_oconnell
Hi all, We are doing some video work using DSLR's and have been working with boom mics plugged into the audio in which work very well. For a single person setup, we'd like to clip the microphone into the hotshoe and use it that way. I can find hotshoe to 1/4" adapters but I cannot for the life of me find a hotshoe adapter to 5/8" which is the standard thread for microphone clips. Any ideas? I'm in the UK btw. Thanks! GerrySiegel
If you are using a large microphone I would consider rigging a bracket to hold the microphone. I think you will find it balances better that way. Not that you asked, but that is my observation. And you can find a mic holder with a 5/8 thread arrangement I am sure. Sometimes it takes a couple adapters to get to what you seek. Manfrotto accessories is a good place to start.
