kerrick_long
I'm new here to photo.net, and I'm fairly new to photography. I'm getting a photography degree at Southeast Missouri State University, and I've done some film and some digital.

I've shot with a Canon Rebel 2000 for film, and I'm picking up a T2i when it comes out to shoot digital. This place seems like a welcoming community, so I thought I'd join up!

I'm going to try all sorts of different subjects, styles, and techniques to find out where in photography I want to go career wise - I'm not sure what I'll enjoy the most. I'll try shooting second at a wedding, getting a faux architecture photo shoot, doing some portraiture in our school studio, and all sorts of other stuff to get my feet wet in every niche to see where I'd like to swim.

If you all have any advice for me, a few greetings, or even just a 'hullo there' I'd greatly appreciate it!

--Kerrick Long, Amateur photographer and student.

kerrick_long
I certainly believe that! I can't wait until I get my DSLR so I can experiment with all sorts of photography without worrying about the costs of film (which can get expensive for a college student!) or having to wait for the photo lab to open to develop and print it.
joshroot
That is one of the great things about digital, the instant feedback makes it really easy to experiment. You are going to have a great time.

Welcome to PN.
