paul t
I know this subject has come up before, but a search only reveals a thread without answers.
I'm off to NY at lunchtime, working, but my Hexar AF seems dead; '0' is flashing, and shutter button inoperative. It's a new battery, tho I'm off to buy another in a moment. Is this the traditional Hexar shutter button problem? How can I solve it? And if it ain't, can you recommend any NY repairers, preferably around the village, who might be able to turn it around real quick?? TIA... fran_ois_courtois
do you have a filter attached? Did you try and focus with the lens cas on?

michael s.
I recall that Grant used to have something he did to the Hexars that worked ... for some of the problems.
patricks
Konica (Minolta) service will send you a little rubber right (for free) to put between your filter and the lens, if that is indeed the problem. Start by removing any filter and install fresh batteries. Otherwise call their service.
i want my photo.net histor
My understanding is that there are two problems which occur with the Hexar AF. The first is the lens touching a mounted filter. This is solved by requesting some shims from Konica. And can generally be worked around by taking the filter off and reseting the camera. The second issue is when the shutter button needs fixing. Apparently Grant knew how to do this and would provide the answer offline. I asked for the fix to be published and so would be in the archive but that never happened.
andrew robertson
You should also try removing the battery and leaving it out for a few days.
icuneko
Your Hexar does this when it knows you're lusting after a Leica. Never think, speak, read, write or listen to the word "Leica" and it'll be OK.
paul t
Yes, it's the shutter problem, I think, not the filter problem. I'll try emailing grant.
