flickr url
Hello,
Anyone know of a place where I can photograph Snakes in and around Dallas / Fort Worth? One obvious location is the Zoo, however, if that were not a preference, any other locations?
Also, along the same lines, any special tips (besides staying careful) on taking snake pictures...?

Thanks for any responses...
-Nav
stephen hazelton
Not "the Zoo", there is also Fort Worth Zoo. Tyler Zoo is not too far out, is pretty decent for small town (used to be free, but no more). But don't know of any other particular places. I'll occasionally see a snake out at Rowlett Creek Preserve, but not often enough to go looking for them. Usually cute lil green snakes.
james_bales2
One idea is to put signs up at pet supply stores requesting pictures of pet snakes in exchange for a few good prints. Moccasins a plenty in Ten Mile Creek. Plus some rat snakes. Desoto, Tx below the bridge that is on Hampton Rd. just north of Pleasant Run Rd. I've met many rattlers, moccasins, rat snakes, and others that I can't identify in the Trinity river bed on the stretch that runs from Sylvan down river to Houston Bridge. Also in the Trinity river bed east bound on I20. Of course, there's cedar ridge preserve in Cedar Hill, Tx.
