jbsox
( I posted this uunder digital darkroom also I was not sure where I should post it..sorry) I seem to have made a mistake that I need help with. I used my new D300 yesterday and today tried to import my images into lightroom. When the import box appeared the previews showed a gray blank creen on each preview. I could not understand why the images are there when you preview in camera. I then realized that I had changed from RAW & jPeg to just raw in camera. I reasoned that I did not need two images just raw. What I did not notice was that raw is neff ( not that I would have thought it would be aproblem anyways). I guess lightroom either doesnt import nef or I am doing something wrong. All help would be greatly Appreciated Jim
ronald_moravec1
Try using a card reader rather than the camera. Install picture project to your computer and it will import NEF files. PP will be a sub folder under MY Pictures. Move the files to where you want them. It is easiest to make a small basic JPEG + raw and the combo will import. Consider a Mac next time around and you will not have these problems.
jim craig
What version of Lightroom are you using? I don't have a D300 but believe I read that you need the latest Lightroom version 1.3.1 for D300 RAW files. The updates are available on Adobe's site. Neff is just Nikons RAW extension and seeing the neff extension on your files is correct.
