brandonhamilton
Whats up everybody My question is simple, and I am having a hard time finding anybody with enough experience to be able to answer my question, including the fine people at Tamrac. I have a Nikon D100, with the MB-D100 vert grip/battery pack mounted underneith, and am looking for the most compact backpack/sling for my camera. The velocity 7 looks perfect, but perhaps not deep enough to accomodate the taller D100 when the grip is added. The Velocity 9 I think will work, but this one just plain looks too big. Velocity 7 - http://www.tamrac.com/5747.htm Velocity 9 - http://www.tamrac.com/5749.htm Does anybody have any hands on experience that can guid me? I would love the smaller 7, but if it really and truly WONT fit... then obviously that isn't the one I want. I don't care if its a tight fit! Thanks everybody. raymond bradlau
The 7 fit my F100/MB15 and a smaller zoom, I switched to the 9 so I could have the 80-200 2.8 attached The size of the F100/MB15 and the D100/MB100 are about the same I believe
brandonhamilton
I think you are right. I myself don't really care about how big of a zoom I can fit, I will be traveling around with my 28-70 so I don't really need to fit the 200. I am just concerned with the height of the body. If your f4 with the attachment fits ok, My D100 should as well. The D100 is only slighly bigger.
kevin_hundsnurscher
I'm able to stuff my Pentax 645 into the Velocity 7 and it's probably a good 5 inches in height. I imagine the D100 with the battery pack would be snug.
brandonhamilton
Great... the 7 it is, even if it is snug. If I eventually have to go with the 9, no big deal, the 7 is only 45 bucks.
mike_elek
Brandon, the problem you might encounter with the 7 is the height of the D100 with the battery pack attached. I'm not sure that it will allow you to put the camera into the bag with the lens attached. However, you'll really need to try this yourself, because it might fit fine. I bought my Velocity 7 at a Ritz Camera store, so you might be able to try it there.
