indraneel
I have a prophoto workflow on capture NX2 and CS2. My wide gamut monitor (HP LP2275 profiled using spyder2 (I do not have a spyder3) and argyll) shows the same colors even after a profile conversion to sRGB. The colors remain identical even though histogram clips at both ends after converting to sRGB. Am I missing something? Dragging the image to my sRGB laptop screen (fujitsu A3130 profiled with spyder2 and argyll) desaturates the colors as it should be.

Is this how wide gamut monitors work or have I set something wrong? This is on Vista 32bit home premium. I use dispwin to install the profiles and the colors shift when the profiles get installed.

Also, I'm looking for a monitor replacement. Please see this thread .
15sunrises
In CS2, if you go up to View -> Proof Setup, and set it to Monitor RGB, do you still have the same issue?
indraneel
Setting to monitor RGB desaturates the colors a bit and it looks brighter than windows RGB. Do you say I have to proof in sRGB even after a profile conversion? What are monitor/windows/macintosh RGB?
