bob_peters
I've got a flash hotshoe that screws into the tripod screw (that normally attaches the bottom of the camera to the tripod) so I can use my flash off camera without having to cart around both a tripod and a lighting stand (I rarely use the two at the same time). Screw the hotshoe into the tripod, attach the flash and I'm up and running. My issue is finding a way to attach an umbrella too - does anyone know of an umbrella clamp that will attach to a normal tripod?
ronald_moravec1
I have two Bogen ones that tilt, have a post fitting for a light, and a hole for umbrella shaft. You have to find a post to hot shoe adapter or make something.
nickwhite
Manfrotto do this clamp, which in combination with your hotshoe adapter should do the trick. http://www.morrisphoto.co.uk/ProductDetails~man~Manfrotto~productID~6069~categoryid~158.html Introphoto used to do an all in one adapter for this very purpose (which can be used on either a tripod or light stand) but I think it has been discontinued. I have two of them available, but I'm in the UK. (email me if you like).<div></div>

Similar to the item pictured above, but without having to fuss with smaller thumbscrews to adjust the umbrella position.
wayne_f1
<img src="http://www.scantips.com/g2/dsc_2065.jpg"><p> The standard umbrella mount like this one (search B&H for "umbrella mount") or here: <p> http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/1326/Umbrellas_Accessories_Umbrella_Accessories.html <p> They are $15, and the same item has many brand names there. They come with the two brass inserts for top and bottom. One brass insert has threaded post for top (shown) and one has threaded hole for bottom (not shown), and they come with both inserts, and it will work. Two size threads, 1/4 and 3/8". This picture is on a light stand, and is not using the bottom brass insert with threaded hole, but it has it. If you should need extra brass inserts (should not need more), it is http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/438701-REG/Smith_Victor_661205_Brass_Adapter_1_4.html <p>The umbrella mount comes with both of those inserts. <p> My picture shows a different Stroboframe 300 flash shoe. <p> Less versatile, but this one should do it too: <p> http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/250375-REG/Smith_Victor_670141_UM_5_Umbrella_Mount.html
