karen_liles
I've been checking B&H Photo and Porters for flash/incident meters, and here are some I could afford. Can you tell me which is the best for the money? Sekonic L308BII Flashmate - $159.00 Sekonic L358 Flashmaster - $219.00 Minolta Auto Meter VF - $219.95 Gossen Luna-Pro Digital F - $229.00 JTL LM-6 - $185 Or if none of these is a good buy, could you suggest another source or other models? I would use it mainly for outdoor fill flash and indoors with my studio lights. Appreciate any input.
kevin_kolosky
Karen save your money for awhile and purchase the new minolta VI. I have one and it is a super meter. I have also owned the Minolta VI and the Minolta V. Both were fantastic meters, and you may be able to find one in good condition for a good price. timberwolf1
Buy a used Minolta III flash meter for $90. They are right on, and simple to use. Use incident dome. The IV and V models did not improve accuracy, it was already perfect! I think these were about $200 twenty years ago! ras1500
I have the Sekonic L-358 and can attest that it's very accurate and will provide the capability of measuring the situations that you describe. By the way, I have nothing against Minolta products ( I own 4 of their cameras). I just got a good deal on the Sekonic from a local dealer and do not regret the purchase.
