Heidelberg or similar scanners

Recommended Posts

If you Google "linoscan 1800" you'll find some information from users of this and similar Linoscans. In particular, if you click on the third link down you'll see several messages that I posted in another forum about my experiences with the Linoscan 1400. In a nut-shell, I wouldn't buy one again, if for no other reason than the fact that Linoscan provides no tech support for these consumer scanners and AFAIK they are SCSI-only.

Actually I don't know of any reasonably priced flatbed including the V750 that I'd buy for 35mm unless the only planned use was for the web. I used my Linoscan 1400 only to scan 4x5 and 8x10 film and it was fine with film that large and prints up to about 11x14 or so, maybe a little larger. But with smaller formats, especially 35mm, I don't think you'd get very good result if your goal is excellent prints. That is, however, something of an uneducated opinion because I've never used a flat bed for anything other than 4x5 and 8x10 film.
