william_markey Posted April 14, 2006 Share Posted April 14, 2006 Okay, I'm BRAND new to Hassy and am reading a bunch of the archived messages under the Hasselblad title to try to educate myself. I'm reading that the PM5 has a 3X magnification. Here's my stupid question--when looking through the viewfinder, am I seeing exactly what I will have for an image (as in looking into a WLF) or, because it is magnified, am I seeing a cut-off portion of what I will get on film. Please note, I sent the camera in for a CLA as soon as I got it, so I have yet to put a test roll through it. Thanks for any help! q.g._de_bakker Posted April 16, 2006 Share Posted April 16, 2006 Yes, some viewfinders crop the viewfinder image a tiny bit.<br>But then, the focusing screen doesn't show 100% of what will be on film to begin with.<br><br>As long as everything you see in the viewfinder will also be recorded on film (and it will), why worry about a millimeter extra?
