Hello All,

I have a friend of a friend....who wants to sell me the following

Hasselblad hardware:

500cm body,wl,rwc......

Acute-Matte w/Grid & Split.....

Meter Prism EX.....

12 Back Ex chr.....

A24 Back LN,Box, Instructions chr......

150mm f4 c ex+ chr (B50)......

80mm f2.8 c chr ex +(B50).....

Hassy 21 ext tube ex.....

Tripod Quick Release Early Chr ex......

Quick coupling plate ex.....

Lindahl Pro Vignetter Shade Ln......

Waist Level ex......

Polaroid 100 Back Ln Box Instructions.....

Stroboframe pistol grip camera bracket......

I know little about Hasselblad but have read many of the previous

posts. Any last minute advice or pitfalls I should be aware of?

Cost for all the above is $2000.00 and the body and lenes were CLA'd

last year. He is not a pro but did a few weddings and home portraits.

Is that a fair price or should I look for something newer.

Thanks in advance!!

I have mostly the same equipment,i.e. 500CM, 50mm f4, 80 mm f2.8 and 150 f4. A12, A16s and A24 backs, prism viewfinder (old 1970's model). No extension tubes, I WANT a lindahl shade. I CAN NOT find film for the 1970's type 88 polaroid land film used in the polaroid back. In my opinion you would be stealing from this guy at $2K.

Love the equipment, all of it. Learn what you can about Hassy's, since they have their quirks, and make sure you have a good hand held light meter.

Sincerely

Hugh

Body, one back and two lenses alone, in good condition, are worth $2000,

easily. The rest is free. Take it.

I've owned many many cameras over the past 34years. Owning the

Hasselblad kit now, I have to say that I think these cameras produce some of

the best negatives I've ever seen.

Assuming that the chrome lenses are not T* coated, I'd see the price as just OK -- a bit less than it would take to assemble the package for yourself. On the other hand, if you wanted to sell/trade the chrome lenses for newer T* models, you would end up spending a bunch more. I would try to get it without the lenses for $1000.

DAMN! And I thought that I got a good deal on my new equipment. (In case you're wondering, a mint+ 500c, Chrome 80/2.8 planar, A12 Back, Waist level finder, Hard hood, Pistol grip, and 2 filters for $800) I would take all of that for $2000 if it is in good working condition, and looks nice (ie, the darkslides aren't bent and scratched to no end). Your friend is cutting you quite a deal.

Thanks to all for your input. I will get a chance to inspect

equipment very soon. I'm very tempted to go for it but I still

need to investigate the whole MF vs. Digital.

Thanks again!
