rickvivian
It's 8.20pm on New Year's Eve in Brisbane Australia. We've been slammed with 95 - 100+ degree (F) temps for the past week so I envy those of you who have enjoyed a white Christmas where ever you are. I want to end my year by thanking the Photo.net administrators, subscibers and contributors for providing this meeting and sharing place and creating a worldwide family of artists, imagers and scribes. Since subscribing to Photo.net, your images have taken me on journeys to places I hadn't even known existed. With my eyes I have been able to visit those places I dreamt of as a child and with my heart I have been able to share in the joys, sorrows and wonder of your experiences. The technical discussions have answered questions that I hadn't yet experienced the need to ask and the quibbling of the malcontents has been a never ending source of amusement for me. My eyes have been graced with images of the most beautiful women, the most endearing children and the most awe inspiring scenery. The technical critique categories have showcased the most brilliant artists and technicians of our craft alongside those like myself who aspire to such mastery. My list of interesting people grows daily and I thank them all for their contribution to my uderstanding of this art we call photography. Thanks one and all and I wish you all a happy, safe and fulfilling 2006. Cheers, Rick V.
bill_thorlin
G'day mate from freezing England - I am suffering from SAD and would happily swap for a day or two - must book a holiday soon ! I agree with you in many ways and on the last day of 2005 I have had my horizons expanded even further - I have found a lyrical Aussie :) Seriously though the knowledge available here is quite amazing and like you I enjoy ( most of the time ) the light relief that "erupts" from time to time. All the very best to you for 2006 ( except when it comes to the next Ashes series ) !
