Philipp500
Hi guys. I just got my canonets back from CLA and want to share my joy with you. Glass and viewfinders are clean. Seals are new. The hoods are very important to me. Not originals. The shorter one is on the 40mm and comes from another canon RF, and the other one, on the 45mm is generic 55mm with a 48 to 55mm step-up ring. Yes I see them in the viewfinder but I don't mind. I'll check first what is in that part of the frame and compose accordingly. Thanks for watching. I'll try to post some pics but we'll see. Edited February 4, 2020 by James G. Philipp500
Hi JDM. Thanks for the suggestion. I've had one briefly but it was not in a good condition and I gave it away. Your black QL is very nice.

Thanks for the post, a freshly CLA-d camera is always a joy to the world. I had a similar pair but sold them a year or so ago as I rarely use RF cameras, but sometimes I kinda miss 'em... Philipp500
Hi Don. I'm in Namibia and had them serviced in Johannesburg, South Africa. Not very practical for you I guess. Must be one of the very last places in Africa where vintage cameras can still be helped. 2 others closed down last year for lack of business... (also in South Africa) The good side is it cost very little compared to what you can expect in the US or in Europe. Paid USD 65 for both, and I'm happy with their job. Hi Rick. Thanks for your comment. I don't use these cameras much either, but I'll take one along when moving around. Film and prodessing has also become very expensive here so you get careful. Rick_van_Nooij
I was given a G-III QL a few years back in a Christmas Give Away. I got the shutter working again, but the meter never did work. I sold it recently. Only ever put one roll of film through it. Not a bad camera. Thanks Philipp500 I am getting ready to send a Retina to New Zealand for a CLA so might not be that bad if they don't mind shipping to US.
