I never wear my camera around my neck ether. I figure I would look to much like a damn tourist. I have a short neck strap on it any way and carry it over my shoulder when I'm not using it. I have found the best way that I'm conforable with it when I'm using it is to sick my arm through it and wrap it a couple times around my wrist. It doubles as both a shoulder strap and a hand strap.

I used to do as Jeff explained, wrap the neck strap around my wrist a couple of times. But then I got the Nikon AH-4, the Hakuba PH Camera Grip and the Zing SLR Action "Steady" Strap. I have two camera bodies (D70 + F/N80)and thought that I could always sell the one I don't want. I have yet not seen anyone comparing these so I had to make my mind up myself.

In my opinion the AH-4 is the best, hands down. The Hakuba is not bad, and considering the price difference it is quite good, but it is nowhere as nice as the AH-4. The Zing is cheap and not really that good. It uses a screw inserted through a hole in the nylon strap to secure the strap to the camera. The other two has a baseplate with a new hole for mounting on the tripod.

If you have the money I would suggest the AH-4. All my friends who has tried it fell in love at first sight (hand contact?)

wow, thanks, but $60 is about $55 out of the price range... I went to an electronics store today and found a $5 Hakuba wrist strap that I adapted to fit my N80. Doesn't attach to the bottom plate, just the top loop, but serves the purpose well enough. thanks for all the ideas guys!
