paul_wilson2
Does anyone know of any greenhouses in Mass. that allow photographers in? I know of one college(Wellesley) that has one and it's very nice but I'd like to try some others. Just got a Micro-Nikkor 105 AF and want to try it out.
BTW, a good bird photography site in Mass.(summer of course) is Great Meadows in Concord. There are usually a lot of blue herons there among others. Mid week is better if you want to avoid large numbers of people.
david_m._stone
In Marion, MA (Southeastern part of state) is a private estate known locally as the Stone Estates. They are usually quite accomodating to photographers provided they are professional in appearance and attitude! I have been able to use their extensive facilities and grounds for various assignments and teaching of photography. By calling first, arranging the details, and obtaining permission, it should be no problem to have access. I think it's only available during warmer months, but I'm not positive. They have a wonderful botanical collection and a helpful and knowledgable caretaker.
(BTW : I am in no way related to these nice folks, despite the same last name ! Just a happy coincidence !)
