Graflex mystery thingie

This came with my 4x5 Crown purchased many years ago. I have no idea what it is for. Not

shown in photo are two screws on bakelite [?] base for apparent wire hookup (like on a

I have several of the lamp sockets you pictured with Homer and the jello mold. I have several on hand because we use them all the time with flash bulbs inserted in them to indicate when high voltage circuits have been initiated. I work at a US Navy weapons test lab and this old flashbulb technology is still useful for us, just not in the usual way for camera lighting. The high speed camera guys sometimes use flashbulbs still, but they are bulbs the size of a 200 watt bulb. My point in responding is that I need more of these "thingies". Where on earth can I begin a search for them? Has anyone given you any info yet that may lead me in the right direction?
