Gathering of the Robots

<p>Last week a fellow camera collector/user and I got together.<br>

<br />Together, I think we have quite a unique little collection. He recently came into the possession of two other World War 2 GI-souvenirs; Two "Luftwaffen-eigentum" Robot II bodies with Tele-Xenars. We thought it would make a nice photo to have the whole family together.</p>

Mine, on the left, is the youngest, but with the oldest lens. Both of his have earlier serial numbers. Finding a Black 75mm f/3.8 Tele-Xenar complete with hood is another rarity. <br />Note the Kodak 35 pop-up viewfinder installed on the middle one. <br /><br /><br />Unfortunately both of his Robots aren't working (yet). They're suffering from worn gears and broken springs. But he is planning on having them repaired, like I did with mine.<br>

<p>Nice collection. I never got into collecting and using the Robot series, but it looks interesting.</p>

<p>I've always been interested in these, but the combination of rarity over here and the high prices have deterred me.</p>

<p>Here's as close as I've got - the wind-up Ricoh Hi-Color 35, aside from my Praktina winder.</p><div></div>

Nice collection. Say these were like go pros of the

yesteryear. I wonder how many of them are still out

there in working condition.

<p>Not too many I bet. Berning offered a service in Germany to turn them back into regular user cameras with a new top that included a viewfinder.</p>

<p>Nice collection. Being a half frame fan the spring wound camera I've been interested in is the Canon Dial. Never found one working I at a good price though. I have had a little Ricoh Auto Half with the spring motor but didn't like the fixed focus lens so I sold it. </p>
