sattler123
The sensor on my G7 has lots of dust on it and I am wondering if anyone has tried to clean it themselves - if there even is such a possibility. Has anyone ever had to send theirs back to Canon to get it cleaned? If there was a way to get to the sensor relatively easily I would do it myself (I have to do it all the time with my 5D). savas_kyprianides
Send it in to Canon for cleaning.
steve santikarn
I had the same problem and sent the camera back to Canon. They replaced the sensor (which was attached to the lens apparently). You cannot clean it yourself easily.
savas_kyprianides
The optional adapter and a filter can help prevent dust intrusion into the mechanism when shooting in dusty environments.
dg1
I have the lensmate adapter, and UV filter (as well as an extra battery and the rangefinder style case) for the G7 I had. Contact me directly if interested.
