gerard_bynre
Hi, Now that Kodak have pulled the plug on Readyloads I'm wondering if anyone has any insightful opinions on the future prospects for Quickloads. I have neither system, instead shooting with regular 5x4 holders, but I was finally on the cusp of buying a readyload holder & some film when Photo.net informed me it was gone. What about Quickloads? christoph_hammann
Hi, Dirk at Megaperls has lots of film in Quickload envelopes and Quickload holders, too. No mention of a demise of this system on his site or blog.
HTH!
Christoph
michael_briggs2
People are only going to be able to guess. I doubt that anyone here will know Fuji's sales or profit figures on Quickloads. Maybe Kodak stopping selling this type of product will give Fuji additional sales and help keep Quickloads profitable for them.
eric_brody
The rumor I heard is that Polaroid produced the non-film part of the Readyloads for Kodak and when they met their demise, it became no longer economical to continue production. I have no idea of the real truth. Eric
gerard_bynre
Thanks guys, I may take the plunge and give quickload a shot then. I guess there's times when it might be helpful to use quickloads, although given that wise advice seems to have it that you always need to carry a back-up holder the option seems to get heavier, bulkier, and more expensive too.
