Frontier Processing

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to research different types of film processing. I

used to send my film to Mystic Color Lab or even bring it over to a

pro lab but lately I've been dissatisfied. I use print film, and the

colors never seem as vibrant as when I take the picture (Fuji Superia

400 film). When I walk into my local Ritz, I see they have a

Frontier system. Does that mean the processing is likely to be

good? Are there different types of Frontier processors, and should I

be choosing one over another? Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you.

There are different Frontier models, but AFAIK they should produce the same or very similar images; the differences are in areas like throughput (the higher-end models can pump out a lot more prints per hour) and what inputs can be accepted.

There's plenty of previous discussion of Frontiers here which should prove useful to you. A Google groups search for Fuji Frontier in rec.photo.film+labs has an estimated 1040 results.
