Rick_van_Nooij
At the start of the month I scored a box containing over a dozen 9x12cm glass plate negatives (on the right) at a Brocante flea market. (Together with a Bruguiere Stereoscope from the 1940s) http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/Broc1704.jpg Unfortunately the box did not contain images of the "Grand Prix Paris 1889-1900" like the label said, but a mix of common and uncommon subjects. Apparently the photographer was rather impressed with his new stove, as 4 of the plates were dedicated to it (Or he was looking to sell it). Anyway, I've scanned them for your perusal; 1. Mother and children http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170401.jpg 2. Woodscape http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170402.jpg 3. The glorious stove http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170403.jpg The rest appear to be reproduction of artwork from books or actual items, possibly for a dealer in such items. 4. The Virgin and baby Jesus http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170404.jpg 5. A dying bedmaker http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170405.jpg 6. Markings on the negatives to suggest framing for prints? http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170406.jpg 7. Uuuuh.... http://www.flibweb.nl/flibweb/cpg154/albums/userpics/10001/FP170407.jpg Fairly certain we're dealing with a French photographer, considering most visible texts in the images (and on the box). The way the mother and children are dressed suggests 1920s to me, but I'm not that well versed in period civilian clothes I'm afraid.
Two23
The "Woodscape" suggests the style of photography used by EO Hoppe in the 20s and early 30s. Kent in SD
