chuck_foreman1
Is this related to the construction of the later models... I thought they were very similar .. and the earlier models would be easier?!?
MathewDH
Bald Mountain Camera services the earlier Rolleiflex cameras. I had Ken Ruth go though a K-1 model 612, and a Deco Rolleicord. Both are intended for use and he did the work while I was gathering original accessories for them like the lens filters and hoods.

In fact, he will work on any camera but it pays to have a vintage camera worth the price to bring it up to good working shape. He even took on the Agfa Optima Reflex which he considers a difficult camera to rebuild. He actually used two to get enough good parts, including a working selenium cell, for a properly working example. The Agfa model is a twin lens 35mm camera.

paul_wheatland
I have a 1939 Rolleiflex Automat Model 2 K4-B that's never been serviced. I dry fire it once a month between actual filming, all functions are up to spec and 1 second is crisp and dead-on. Maybe low miles or just plain good luck for my use. This would be the third year of the Automat and precision, bench made quality may have been the "norm".
tony_lockerbie
Maybe the earlier Rolleis' just don't give any trouble...all mine work fine :)
