john_neller
This Is wondeful news. John Maddox is alive and well. Google L&J in Greenville SC. He works only on Leica LTM and no one does it better. He can make most mechanical parts. He s a true artist.

wendell_kelly
You can contact John Maddox at leica1925@aol.com. This seems to be some sort of recurrent scam. This information was previously posted by "John Maddox" in May. Messages to the "leica1925" address produced no reply. Greg M
The posts specific to this site definitely have that "scam" look to them, but I have seen past references to L&J Repair in South Carolina in other forums and ran across this additional information at one point...John Maddox L&J Leica Repair 109 Royal Oak Rd. Greenville, SC 29607 (864) 297-6931. It's been forever since I've owned a screw mount Leica so I've never had a need to contact anyone and have no knowledge of how legitimate this guy is or not. I used a white pages app on my phone and the above telephone number is in South Carolina, but there was no name associated with it.
Richard Williams
I've never dealt with John Maddox and I have no idea of his current status, but I've seen quite a few references to his LTM repair business over the years (e.g. in the Nemeng Leica FAQ) and there are forum posts on places like RFF containing that email address going back over a decade. The Nemeng FAQ gives a phone number and address. Incidentally, there are quite a lot of short cryptic posts on photo.net lately, often reviving old threads (not necessarily this one). Is someone trying to generate a bit of traffic?

Some say he was the best. I'm suggesting that whoever has been using the name "John Maddox" as his member name in this forum recently has nothing to do with the real Mr. Maddox. Richard Williams
As you were trying to contact him previously, have you tried phoning the number above?
