john_lai3
Hi, Did anyone go to Shenandoah National Park area last week? How are the leaves? Is it worthwhile going thisweekend? Any suggestion for shooting locations? I plan to spend a day there taking pics but I am not sure if the foliage has peaked yet. Thanks John

rcsenn
I just got back from the Clifton Forge area, I-64 West I-81. Nice leaves and such, but looks like I was a week before peak. The Northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, between Buena Vista and Afton were nice, but still a touch early I think. Lots of color, but the reds were lagging behind a bit, only 1/4 or so of the tree turned. Rich

jdrose
The reds and orange are very bright and vibrant currently. Unfortunately, the last week has been very windy and most of the yellow leaves are now on the ground. This picture was taken yesterday about an hour north of Shenandoah in the Sleepy Creek WMA in West Virginia at an elevation of 1500'. Time was about 10 minutes after sunset under a thick overcast sky.<div></div>
