raihan_malik1
Hello Everyone, I bought this D7100 brand new probably 2 years now and never had any issues until last week, For some unknown reason focus point doesn't move and just stays in the middle, tried many times but getting no where, even rebooting doesn't solve the issue!! Any advice? Is it a mechanical problem and do i have to send it to the store or i can fix it by myself? Thanks. Raihan.

ben_hutcherson
Have you by chance inadvertently moved the "lock" collar around the pad to the "L" position? Assuming you don't have it locked-will the pad let you do other things like navigate through menus or through image review?

mike_halliwell
Sometimes I wish there was a lock on my D5100's pad, After taking it out of the camera bag you often realise the AF point is hard again one side or another. Grrr....

Grrr.... There is another lock for the AF point d-pad. It’s around the shutter release.

rodeo_joe1
After taking it out of the camera bag you often realise the AF point is hard again one side or another. Grrr.... Chill Mike! On most Nikon's you simply have to press the centre OK button on the 'joystick' to pop the AF rectangle back to the centre of the screen...... that's if it's not locked.:p
John Di Leo
Yeah, BTDT. It kind of like the kill switch on a motorcycle...why won't my bike start! It's surprises me how easy it has become to inadvertently switch it to L
