luca_abbiento
Hi, I would like to know if the flash Polatronic 2350 fits SX-70 alpha 1 model 2 (NOT SONAR). Moreover, do you know where I can buy a SX 70 Flash Adapter to connect for example a Metz to it? I live in Europe...thanks luca
silent1
If that's the one with the battery pack that fits under the camera, and the head that plugs into the Flashbar socket, then it's supposed to work on all folding SX-70 models that were originally made for Flashbar, sonar or not. I've seen a web page with information on how to make an adapter to connect an electronic flash to the Flashbar socket -- it's a little tricky, because the e-flash needs to be triggered at maximum lens opening (which, in the SX-70 when flash is detected, is determined by the focus setting, not by the ambient light level), where the Flashbar needs about 15 ms to burn; I don't recall if the adapter included a delay or if none was needed. Either way, you need a flash with close to the same guide number as the original Flashbar in order for the camera's exposure system to work correctly. luca_abbiento
Thanks Donald, the flash that you talk is for example ITT flash and I know that it fits good. Polatronic 2350 is different...please see the photo that I have attached. Some people say that the Polatronic 2350 fits SX 70 Sonar and only earlier models of SX 70 Not Sonar...
