tony_b
Hello, Can somebody tell me please what are the main advantages of using a flash bracket (especially in a wedding) ? Thanks
al_kaplan1
It can get the flash high enough to eliminate red eye, and keep the flash head directly over the lens. This throws the shadow down behind the subject where it mostly can't be seen. Much better than a shadow on one side!
ellis_vener_photography
Simple & sole reason for using this or any other type of light modifier: to produce a better quality of light.
lee_brand
Three reasons that I know of 1. It moves the axis of flash further away from the central axis of the lens - this helps to reduce redeye. 2. It also starts to add a third dimension to the lighting on the subject because the light is not coming from directly in front - it provide lighting with a bit of "depth" 3. Your big flashgun is not trying to wrench off your hotshoe on your expensive SLR - it will destroy the hotshoe on the relativly cheap flash bracket. Dont underestimate the value of this "feature" all by itself!
