mike simons
Folks - My lovely, lovely, lovely, WONDERFUL wife just picked me up the $135.00 16mm 2.8 Zenitar fisheye for my 5D. I'd seen it in use by a pro at a wedding in Austin, TX, and loved what he did with it. I've seen some examples at other folks' sites using this funky lens - I wonder what you all could share as a "Best Shot" from a wedding, using a fisheye. Call it best practices, call it sharing, call it lightweight competition, I don't care - I'd just like to see what people have done! Mary, I believe this post works; saw you write in another poster's message earlier in the week about requesting single-shot posts of "best practice" examples for review. If I'm in err, just drop me an email, please. Best, Mike
think27
Mike - Yes - this is a perfect example of an image heavy thread with a very specific theme. Looking forward to seeing Fisheye images for inspiration for Mike.
fourfa
love it for getting up close in the dancing, and over-the-head hail mary shots. often with some motion blur, using flash to freeze the subject <p> <img src="http://andyradin.com/3%20-%20Photoblog/2006%2011-25%20-%20Kit%20&%20Miki's%20wedding/5%20-%20Dancing/slides/112506%20222729.jpg"> <p> (15mm fish on FF camera)
david_schilling___chicago_
I'm not bashful. The image below was actually an album page. I was shooting from the outside as the B/G came out for the bubbles and my 2nd shooter was inside shooting out with his fisheye.<div></div>

david_schilling___chicago_
Steve, I resized your 2nd image it was 1024 pixels wide, you need to stay at or under 511 and give it a caption to show in the thread. Neat shot but it does emphasize how empty the church is at that moment.<div></div>
stephen dohring
Thanks man - resize my other one too - That shot was just a church shot I like the curved and straight lines in the shot. I PShopped the Bride and groom later just to add a little something.
david_schilling___chicago_
OK, Here you are. I added just a touch of sharpening to it and resized to 511 wide. Pretty girl :-)<div></div>
nusret_agovic1
I love fisheye lens and it is like a spice to a meal: if you add it in very small amount it will improve the taste ? if you add to much it will screw the whole thing. I don?t shot more than 2-3% of total number of photos at the wedding with fisheye lens.I still have Zenitar 16mm/2.8 and Minolta 16mm/2.8 AF (anybody interested?) and use Canon 15mm/2.8 on 5D. chetn
I have a Sigma 15mm fisheye and its my desert island lens. I dont use it as much for weddings as I do for landscapes though.<div></div>
