kik
Does anyone knows if Leica does it? is anyone intressted in swaping, i live in Portugal and would do it if I see the camera fisicaly, or another possiblility would be just to swap the finder and keep the bodies, I have an MP .72... and I want the .58! Does someone has an opinion about it? Thank you!
m_elek
Who knows? Perhaps you should ask Leica.
Bill Blackwell Images
In the US Leica will do it do for a nominal fee - $900. You would be better off to sell your .72 and buy a .58. I would suggest finding the .58 first (they're getting hard to come by). “When you come to a fork in the road, take it ...” – Yogi Berra
wai_leong_lee
Buy the 0.8x minifier. A lot cheaper.
kik
Wai, can you put the 24mm and like the "real" .58 frame with the whole frame? ; )

SolaresLarrave
Isn't there something about cameras with a different VF magnification having a slightly different baselength? I guess they would have to replace the entire rangefinder mechanism. You're better off swapping bodies, Francisco. Do you shoot wide angles that much? I use a 35mm and an Elmarit 28 on mine in my 0.72 bodies, and after a while I simply got used to it.
Bill Blackwell Images
"Only if the finders are the same magnification." No. See the attached memo from Leica. “When you come to a fork in the road, take it ...” – Yogi Berra
john_collier2
Cheapest way? Buy an 0.58x camera and have them swapped. I assume you have a body that didn't have an 0.58x option (millenium, BP TTL, M6, etc) that you are attached to. Otherwise simply sell your 0.72x and buy an 0.58x.
