wally_hess
Can anyone tell me what color filtration settings C, M, Y to use to remove the orange negative mask when printing on BW paper using an Omega Super C760 enlarger? Thanks
art_haykin
To begin, use only M and Y for contrast control with VC papers, but remember, VC and graded papers do not 'see' all colors, so some images may look a bit different. Many would use Panalure paper with no filters.
stephen hazelton
Check this document out: http://www.ilford.com/html/us_english/pdf/Cont.pdf Ilford recommends a starting grade of #3 or #4 for color negatives on B&W paper, and this link gives the numbers for different grades- not sure if it applies to your enlarger or not. Note that you don't have to get rid of the orange mask, just furnish proper amounts of blue and green, and whatever extra light you have coming through won't make much difference. Exposure times may run longer than B&W negatives (they do with the Kodak "B&W" C41 film, I know).
