Film Camera Week for September 1

Recommended Posts

As it is already Friday in some time zones let's start our weekly film camera thread. As usual, as many photos as you like from your film camera. I have a few images to get us started.

Officer's Lake, Minolta SRT 101, MD 24-50 f4, Kentmere 100

Today the lake is just for looks and some fishing. There is a restaurant there as well. But there was a time when people could swim in the lake. Next image from 1978 showing the lake being enjoyed by swimmers.

The coating material on these lenses is "slightly" radioactive and like the "glow in the dark" lenses that were produced in Japan will probably "shift". My three I-61's are not the Lanthium coated, but two are contrasty, the other very flat. . . go figure ! Dave are you using the built-in light meter or ?? Oh, Brad is a color freak for sure! Bill

Yes, Bill, I used the built-in meter for all the photos. It works quite well, though it's off by about a stop so I adjust the film speed dial accordingly. I like the convenience of the built-in meter, though the turret finder blocks the readout slightly.

This I-61 is a later model (not original to the camera) so possibly they were experimenting with different types of coatings. I've seen older ones with dark violet coatings, but these look quite modern.

Bert:

Who did the development, and what was the scanning technique? I love the results and would like to aim for the same....

HI Bradley:

Thanks for the compliment on the images! I used the Unicolor C-41 kit, at the standard temps noted, and an Epson V800, with settings at 24 bit color, 3600dpi, unsharp mask and dust removal at medium (NO use of ICE). So easy!

Thanks again,

Bert
