rick_drawbridge
Last night I cleaned a Miranda Sensorex that had been languishing in the packaging in which it had arrived, about six months ago. It's a tidy specimen, and I'll post a pic of it for those not familiar with this somewhat unusual camera. I ran a short length of Ilford FP4 Plus as a test; the 50mm Auto Miranda f/1.8 lens is nothing to get too excited about, but it turned in an adequate performance. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 Photo, using Silverfast SE software. Mike Gammill
Nice work with the Miranda, Rick. I've been wanting to find a Miranda with normal lens for a while, but functional, but affordable ones seem to be scarce at the moment. But I'll keep looking. Not concerned about metering, though. I remember the last Miranda's sold in the USA had a 3 year warranty.
m42dave
Rick, interesting that we're all thinking about Mirandas...I also acquired a Sensorex recently and am in the process of running a test roll though it. Mine is a Type 2 with spot metering. Nice results, by the way. Edited October 28, 2017 by m42dave
rick_drawbridge
It would be good to see some more work from the Mirandas, Mike and Dave. I prefer the earlier models using the Exakta-style PAD lenses, before the arrival of the metered models; they have a certain quirky feel and appearance that appeals to me, and they are very quiet and refined to use. Mike Gammill
Thanks, Rick. The look I get reminds me of Plus-X in terms of contrast and tones. Very sharp too. Not quite as fine grained as Plus-X. but hard to tell from images posted. Price of 100' has gone up a few dollars, but it's still a great value.
