Niels - NHSN
Before I sent my Leica II out for service last month, I took a few photos with its Elmar 5cm 1:3.5 lens. The lens is the original assembly from 1929, uncoated and probably never cleaned. I must say I was positively surprised because I normally would expect a higher degree of veiling flare, even from a cleaned uncoated pre-WWII lens - and this lens was certainly not clean. The camera and lens is now back from service, but I have yet to shoot a film with the cleaned camera. This is how the camera look (after clean-up) but the photos below is taken before service. Film is Fujicolor C200: Botanical Garden Copenhagen Oct. 2021. Leica II, Elmar 5cm @F:4.5 Palads Cinema, Copenhagen Oct. 2021.
