Here is a clean Yashica TL Electro X I picked up recently for $10 (body only, not the lens). It's in near mint working condition, though it needed new seals. Look forward to testing it as soon as it cools down a bit.

The Yashinon-DS 1.4 has nice gold/blue/pink/green coatings, though it's not designated as a multicoated lens.

Thanks, Rick. I use dilution B as well. 5' at 68F rating at E.I. 250 seems to work for me. The image from the Rollei was underexposed due to low light so that roll might have benefited from a 6' time, though. The stock I'm using seems slightly faster than the short ends I used to buy. With those I was getting ISO 200 with the 5' developing time. I really like this film and will continue to use it as long as it's available.

Another mint (though unfortunately non-working) screw-mount SLR, the Yashica Electro AX. A handsome camera, if kind of an odd design. Aperture-priority metering, with the CdS cell on a pop-up stalk behind the semi-silvered reflex mirror. Default mode was stopped down, with a button on the front to open up the lens for focusing. No indication of shutter speed chosen by the camera, just under/over exposure arrows in the viewfinder, and unmetered manual speeds.

That AX looks nice. When my family had a camera shop we sold some of the last thread mount Yashica SLR's. I wish I'd kept one for myself. In the early days of our shop (1975 or so) we had Konica, Yashica, and Minolta SLRs along with Tamron lenses and Sunpak flashes. Sold a ton of Konica C35 Automatics and a fair number of Konica Auto S2s.

Wednesday was the Solstice, a day I always feel marks a turning point in a photographer's year as the sun halts it's journey to the north and slowly begins to return to our hemisphere. I always try to make a sort of "Photography Day" of the event, and the weather was kind with brilliant, hard sunshine and the long, deep shadows of this time of the year. I shot film with four cameras, including an lovely old Zeiss Icarette from the late 1920's which I'm tidying up, but more of that in a later post. I'll post five samples accompanied by technical details, and perhaps a few more later if I'm trapped inside for the weekend by incipient bad weather.

Mike, you sure got the goods w/ that little Rollei. Nice one.

James - tones & range in the Weidmann's shot are killer. You're having fun w/ that F6 (voice of jealousy).

Bertliang - each is nice, but the beach cliff shot shines for me - which is unusual - I love night shots.

James, the Isolette (and the shooter) are delivering the goods in fine order.

'Always cringe - Rick's work is gorgeous. If Tony gets to connect, we need him to steal your secrets :)

Erko - Nice work w/ the Nikon. 'Love the composition, execution, title of 'Open House'. 'Gears' is also wonderful. Reflection brings alot to it.
