Film Camera Week for July 2

Discussion in 'Classic Manual Cameras' started by Mike Gammill, Jul 1, 2021.

  1. Greetings, all, and welcome to our new thread. Post all the images you like from any film camera. I'll start with some images from a roll of Ilford FP4+ that I processed and scanned earlier this week. Camera was Pentax ZX-7 with FA 50mm f 2.8 macro.

  13. We're off to a great beginning on this week's thread. James- that 105 mm f 2.8 Nikkor is impressive. JDM- nice work with the Yashica Electro 35 FC (love the water tank). Great results, m42 Dave from that Fujinon 29-47. I believe the ST 901 was top of the line before Fuji switched to bayonet mount. Rick- outstanding performance from that Vivitar 28-105. This inspires me to look through some of the gear I haven't used as much and run some film though it.

Thanks, Mike. I've found the 29-47 to be a very sharp and contrasty little zoom. The M42 version is quite scarce, being more often seen in Fujica X-bayonet mount, but even then it's not common.

  15. In case you missed it in a different thread this is from a Brownie Target Six-16 shot with 120 TMax 400 expired 2002, soft corners but pretty good in the center, size is 6X11.

    Thanks
    Don

  16. My film-cameras are fairly new, hope you folks here don't mind. Subject here was my favorite clown. I've visited him a few times already and will continue to do so.

  18. I don't have a single photograph of a water tank and I'm feeling rather inadequate... However, I finally received a further supply of the Astrum Foto-100 film that impressed me when I trialed it a few months ago. To my dismay, the base appears to differ from the earlier stock, in that it has a ferocious curl when dry, quite different from the original film that dried flat. Rather disappointing, but I'm pleased to report that the emulsion is the same, very fine grained and sharp with excellent tonal values.

Our town is staging a "Mid-Winter Christmas" celebration, with lots of decorations, stalls, vintage vehicle rides and other attractions, so I loaded up a Minolta XD-7 and shot a test film around the streets, and I'll post some samples below. The lens was a Minolta MD 35-70mm f/3.5 and the film was developed in PMK Pyro.
