Recommended Posts

Welcome everyone to our new thread. As many photos as you like from your film camera. I'll start with some film that I processed and scanned over the last two days.

Yesterday the car on the left had to have a new battery. No complaints as it still had original battery and the car is a 2012/

Here are three from the FED 50, which is similar to the Olympus Trip 35 but with a wider shutter speed range. AFAIK it was not exported, so it is not a common camera to find in the US. Film used was Fomapan 100, medium yellow filter.

A great start to the thread, with some rather wintry-looking scenes. Dodging sub-tropical weather events, I managed to shoot some film with a Canon A1 fitted with a Tamron Adaptall II 35-70mm CF Macro f/3.5 (Model 17A), a great combination of camera and lens. The film was Arista EDU 100, one I haven't used for a while, and the results reminded me just how "sharp" this film is; the grain is a little more evident than that of the Kentmere 100 or FP4 Plus I use more often, but the edge-sharpness is certainly impressive. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 Photo using Silverfast SE software.

Some lovely work already!

Just a few shots from a short walk last week, a little moment of sun. Finished a roll in a Werra 3 that I got not too long ago, which appears to be fine, apart from a vertical misalignment of the rangefinder, and the Yashica D which is certainly starting to grow on me. While it makes me want a Rollei a bit, I do like how light this camera is.

I haven't done much with dreary weather for months in the Rheinland, wonder where Rick N's friend found the warmth to go wading. The weather broke for a few hours last weekend and the Rhein promenade was flooded with folks. It is typical for this time of year to also have the highwater so this is always a curiosity to view too. Lots of great images .. loved that Aqueduct at night Dan, and Rick the tonal results from the Arista were great...

I think Wouter and I are on the same page, I took out my trusted Rolleiflex T last weekend and yesterday, took my Werra, sporting my recently acquired Flektogon . I was going to develop it last night, but realized I only have Rodinal!! USed the last of the Tanol Speed on the 120 roll. I think I will mix up a gallon of d76, I haven't used it in 2 years... I miss the high acutance from before, I am trying to get better results and the Rodinal, while convenient to use, just isn't working for me.

So I will post a few from the Rolleiflex using Acros souped in Tanol Speed scanned with a Espon 500.

Sloppy film handing leads to this result on the left, another image(s) had similar ..actually worse consequences, View to the regional government building. The tower is a large insurance company.

Hello everyone. Chuck now that your Tanol has been used, give a thought to the other staining developers that use Cathecol vrs the Pyro found in Tanol or PMK-Pyro. I noticed a jump in neg sharpness when I switched first to Pyrocat HD & then to my present Obsidian Aqua. Ebay has a seller in/near the EU that offers 100ml bottles of the HD (that's about 30 rolls of 35mm), the OA is a DIY with only 3 chemicals. . . Aloha, Bill

I shot some Arista EDU 100 yesterday with the Nikon FE I pictured in the "What camera are you using this weekend?" thread, using the 105mm Nikkor-P Auto f/2.5, and a little zoom I really like, the 35-70mm Zoom-Nikkor f/3.3-4.5s Macro. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 photo.

First, two from the zoom:
