Film Camera Week for February 23

Recommended Posts

Greetings everyone and welcome to our new thread. As usual, post as many images as you want from your film cameras. I'll start with a couple of rolls I processed and scanned over the weekend.

The little Rollei 35 (with S. Xenar) is still going strong after I glued the shutter linkage back together late last year.

Several years ago I unearthed a box of old negatives dating back to the 1970's. With the rather limited scanning gear I then had available I attempted to resurrect a few of these images, taken during my time as a duck shooting enthusiast, but the results were really pretty awful, though I think I may have posted a couple to the Forum in various threads. The box resurfaced last month and I decided to try again, with much improved results. The film was Kodak Vericolor, but much of the film has deteriorated beyond redemption, and I won't waste time trying to salvage any more.

The old negatives were all neatly filed with the taking information inscribed on the brown manilla envelopes. I was a working photographer back in 1973 when these were taken, and far more methodical than I am now, and this must have been a box of personal stuff I took with me when I changed employment. The camera was apparently a Canon FTb fitted with a Soligor 70-220mm f3.5 Macro lens.

Tried again with a smaller file size but nada. Any suggestions?

I'm seeing the file as an attachment to your previous post. I don't see anything on this post. What method are you trying to use, the Upload a File button below the text box or the Image button in the editing buttonbar? I have not found the Image button to work, but the Upload a File button does.

My new scanner has got me digging up old photos and digitizing some of the better ones. These were taken with my Minolta 7000i on Kodak Gold 400 while on vacation to Prince Edward Island, Canada. We were there in May of 98. These particular shots were probably taken with the crappy Sigma lenses I had at the time.

I'm guessing they rotated crops between fields. Their primary crop is potatoes, which do have a distinct flavor from the red soil. We used to buy them fairly often when I lived in Boston, but they don't seem to sell them out here in AZ.

It's rather a small island, so they use pretty much all the land, right up to the shore.

Drop the image files you want to post into a temporary folder, eg "Photonet Friday 23 2"

Open that folder with File Explorer or your favourite image viewer and shift the window off to the side and down.

Open the Forum thread over the top of it.

Select more "More Options" for the dialogue box.

If text is require, type it in and then move the cursor to where you want the image to be placed.

Drag and drop the image from the File Explorer page into the dialogue box. It will take a few seconds to load.

Make sure the cursor is still in the correct position and select "Full Image" in the image list. The cursor will reappear at the bottom of the image.

Repeat this process as often as you like. The cursor dictates the placement and can be used to move the image up and down. When you've finished, hit "Reply to Thread"

Well, that's how I do it but there are obviously other ways. Incidentally, for good screen fit, I size vertical format to 850 pixels high and horizontal to 1000 pixels wide. Having to scroll images up and down is tedious.
