Hi, everyone. I have a D80 and a D90 and every now and then when reviewing images on the lcd I get the above message. Wild-eyed and foaming at the mouth I rush to put the SD card in the laptop to see if the image is truly dead and gone. Happily it turns up ok, it's just not viewable on the camera's screen. (Both models). Wierd. I have a theory though. Many times (perhaps all) I put the SD card in the laptop to see the pics. Whilst doing this I often rotate the ones taken in portrait mode to see them right way up. I'm pretty sure this strange vanishing act only happens AFTER I put the card back into the camera. Whaddya reckon - is that it, or maybe something else?

And after transferring all to your harddrive, backing up etc.
- Good practice is to Empty / Format your cards in-camera , not on your PC so the camera decides what the card looks like.
- Also Good practice is to keep your cards with the camera if you have multiple , so that eventual differences in formatting between camera's , and stored camera profiles don't get mixed up .
