mark u
There was a rumour reported on dpreview that the price will be around $3,000. Nothing further on availabilty. I guess you'll have to wait for Fuji's announcement, and hope that their statement that pricing and availability will be announced soon hasn't taken a leaf out of Microsoft's book ("real soon now"). peter_foiles2
The D70 and S3 are not really comparable cameras. The D70 is entry level dSLR while the S3 is almost pro level. The S3 will be at least several hundred $$ more expensive than the D70.
ShunCheung
I can see the Fuji S3 being a few hundred dollars more than the Nikon D70, but three times as expensive? If Fuji priced the S2 at $2000, let alone $3000, they would have a very difficult time moving them. Canon's EOS 10D, Nikon's D100 and D70 are alternatives at much lower cost. oxskumxo
yea i dont see it being any more expensive then 2K at most, most likely around 1500 if they want to sell them
dave_barrett2
I was at PMA in Las Vegas last month. I own an S2 so was curious about the S3. Fuji was "showing" an S3 under glass (no touchy, no feely). Two different Fuji reps had no details on specs other than to say it would not replace the S2, but compliment it. They said it was planned for release "near the end of the year". Fuji appears to be very slow to market with a new high end digital camera while Canon, Nikon and Kodak are running circles around Fuji with multiple new camera releases in the last year. What's up with Fuji? I guess they're content to be a 2nd tier camera manufacturer and don't want to compete with the big boys. Oh well!
